The Enduring Importance and Value of a Christian Education
Each time I walk the halls of our school or sit in a chapel and hear hundreds of voices—your children’s voices—lifting praises to Jesus and proclaiming Scripture, I am reminded why we do what we do. There is simply no greater joy for a parent or educator than watching young hearts and minds being shaped not only for academic success, but for a lifetime of following Christ with courage and conviction. At Front Range Christian School, we believe Christian education is not an optional add-on to a child’s formation; it is the essential foundation that equips them to impact the world for Christ.
I have often said that there is no neutral education (see here and here). Every classroom, whether public or private, teaches a worldview—overtly or subtly. Public education, by necessity, operates from a foundation of secular humanism that assumes truths about reality, humanity, morality, and history can stand apart from God. At FRCS, we unapologetically embrace a biblically based worldview that declares Christ is the lens through which every subject finds its meaning. We do not overlay Bible verses onto a secular curriculum; we teach students to think Christianly so that math reveals the order of a Creator, science displays His glory in creation, literature engages the brokenness of a fallen world, and history points to God’s redemptive story.
This distinction matters deeply because the average student spends between 15,000 and 20,000 hours in school from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Those hours will shape a worldview. Will they be trained to see the world as it truly is—beautiful yet broken, redeemed by grace—or will they learn to compartmentalize faith as something separate from “real” learning. Christian education rejects that false divide. It partners with you, the Christian home, and the Church to raise up Christian scholars: young people who are academically excellent, spiritually rooted, and prepared to engage culture with truth, grace, and love.
Christian education is not about hiding our children from the world; it is about preparing them for it. Christian schools are not “antiseptic moral bubbles” but “moral incubators” where students wrestle with racism, poverty, creativity, persecution, and beauty—not from the shaky ground of secular humanism, but from the solid foundation of Scripture. We want our graduates to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16), armed with discernment so they can stand firm in higher education, the workplace, and the public square. Our calling is to sharpen their minds and deepen their faith so they walk out respected, influential, and victorious.
Parents, you are the primary stewards of the precious treasure God has entrusted to you. Choosing Christian education is one of the most powerful ways you steward that gift. It is not always the easiest path financially or logistically, but it is one that builds upon the values of your home rather than challenging them. It equips your child to become the kind of person who strengthens the Church and creates God-honoring culture in whatever sphere the Lord places them.
We do not do this alone. This is a partnership—home, church, and school working together as co-laborers in the Kingdom. Thank you for trusting us with your children. Thank you for the sacrifices you make. And thank you for joining us in the high calling of raising the next generation of Christ-transformed culture makers
