Taking one or two traditional classes alongside our full-time students is an excellent option for homeschool families looking for instruction in a specific subject at the senior high school level. The entire course catalog is open to part-time students on a space-available basis, including core subjects and electives.
Homeschool students participating in this option come to school for their class (or classes) as needed, receiving the same instruction, assignments and tests as our full-time students.
Whether you want your high school student to experience hands-on lab sections in science, interact with their peers in discussions about classic literature, gain expert instruction in higher math courses, or participate in band or choir, taking a part time class is a great way to supplement the education they receive at home.
Before enrolling in part-time classes, be sure to read the expectations and program information listed below.
Including fees, program availability, and expectations for students and families enrolled part time at Front Range Christian School
Part time students MUST go through the application and enrollment process, which includes completing the online application, providing all required documentation, and scheduling a family interview for acceptance. Once the student is accepted, the enrollment packet must be completed and submitted for the student to be fully enrolled. Students must be fully enrolled as a part of sports eligibility.
To apply or for more information, please contact our admissions office at admissions@frcs.org
Part-time families pay a reduced fee structure that allows them to access some desired community events and programming. See the table and notes below for more details.
Title | Description | Fee |
Part Time Student Miscellaneous Fee | Includes annual school t-shirt and covers activity fee that allows participation in many school events** | $55 |
**Tickets to some school dances and special events (homecoming, prom, etc.) are not included in this fee; tickets must be purchased to these events, and students should read the Falcon News to see when tickets are available. All handbook policies related to community events apply equally to full-time and part-time students. Please see the FRCS Family Handbook for more information.
While not required, we do encourage all part-time students to participate in chapel each Wednesday (8:55-9:45am). This provides an opportunity for part-time students to praise God alongside their full-time peers.
Part-time students are expected to follow the same protocols, guidelines, policies, and codes of conduct as full-time students. Therefore, part-time students and their parents must agree and adhere to the policies in the FRCS Family Handbook.
For the safety of part-time students, they are required to check-in and check-out with the FRCS Jr/Sr High front office, declaring why they are on campus.
Part-time students should NOT be dropped off to stay the entire school day. If a student is enrolled in more than one class and has a gap of unscheduled time between classes that is 2 or fewer hours, the student may stay on campus and use that time to study. For unscheduled times greater than 2 hours, we require parents/guardians to pick up the student from campus and drop him or her off before their next class. If the student drives, they will need to leave the campus and return for their other class.
Parents of part-time students are encouraged to volunteer, as this is an important part of the partnership with FRCS. There are many areas to serve here at FRCS. Visit the P3 Portal for opportunities and more information.
Full-time families are encouraged to set a goal of 60 hours of service per school year. We encourage part-time families to consider setting a goal of 30 hours of service per school year.
Due to logistical constraints, there are some aspects of school programming that are not available to part-time families. If you are interested in any of these programmatic aspects of our school, we encourage you to consider enrolling as a full-time student.
Part-time FRCS students who wish to participate in competitive sports must complete an Athletic Packet and meet the eligibility requirements for students who are not enrolled full-time at FRCS.
