Sports Recap for April 28-May 3

Competition is hopping in athletics as the spring season nears its conclusion. Middle school sports finish their season this week and next. High School Girls Soccer finished their regular season last week going 3-0 last week and ending the season as the number 9 seed in the 2A Playoffs. Here are some highlights from last week:

MS Baseball went 2-1 last week, beating Mile High Academy and then splitting a doubleheader with Flatirons Academy.

MS Girls Soccer had a mixed week, with the Black team going 0-2 against some really good teams and Purple finishing 2-0 on the week.

MS Track and Field got moved because of the weather.

HS Track and Field was at the Mile High League meet and here are some of the highlights for FRCS in the league:

  • Gavin Gold took 7th in the 400
  • Boys 4×100 took 5th
  • Boys 4×200 took 7th
  • Caleb Harms took 8th in the 300 Hurdles
  • Matthew Chapin took 3rd in the Shot Put

HS Baseball faced some stiff competition this past week and went 0-3.

HS Girls Soccer had a great week and finished 3-0 for varsity and 1-0 for JV. The varsity team beat #7 Gilpin (4-3) and then #9 Dawson (3-2). The Lady Falcons are hosting a first round CHSAA playoff game on Wednesday, May 7, here at FRCS at 4:30pm. Please remember that CHSAA playoff games are not free (even if you have an Falcon Club pass).
