Thankful
Wow, time flies! It seems like just yesterday my wife Carolyn and I were dropping off our oldest son for his first day at FRCS. Then, in what feels like the blink of an eye, our three boys graduated, started careers, got married, and built families of their own. Today, my two oldest have children, and my youngest is 28. How did we get here?
You may be wondering what I’m doing writing this. The answer is simple: I love FRCS.
I love the people. I love the lifelong friendships our sons developed during their years at school. I love the lifelong friendships Carolyn and I made with other parents, teachers, and staff. Those relationships have been a blessing that continues to enrich our lives even years after our boys graduated.
But as meaningful as those things are, they are not what I treasure most.
What I value most is the role FRCS played in helping establish a strong foundation of faith in the hearts of our sons. We entrusted FRCS with more than their education. We entrusted them with helping reinforce the biblical values we were teaching at home. Day after day, year after year, our boys were surrounded by teachers, coaches, and mentors who pointed them toward Christ.
Looking back, I can honestly say that the greatest gift FRCS gave our family was not academic preparation, athletic opportunities, or lifelong friendships. It was helping our sons deepen their relationship with Jesus. Seeing them continue to walk in their faith as husbands, fathers, and Christian men is something for which I will always be grateful.
That is why I have remained connected to FRCS over the years. I want to be part of what God is doing through this school. FRCS is so much more than a great education. It is a place where lives are shaped, faith is strengthened, and Christ is honored. For our family, that impact has been priceless. FRCS has done so much more for me than I could ever do for it.
As I look back on the blessings FRCS has brought to our family, I am filled with gratitude. If FRCS has touched your life, I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the impact it has had on you and your family. Consider how God has used this school to shape hearts, build faith, and prepare young people for His purposes. Then, find a way to stay involved. Whether through prayer, volunteering, mentoring, giving, or simply sharing your story, each of us has an opportunity to help ensure future generations experience the same Christ-centered education that has meant so much to our families. Together, we can continue supporting the work God is doing at FRCS for years to come.
