Statement of Faith

What we believe to be true concerning:

Scripture

The Bible (the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments) is the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. It was written by men, and prepared and superintended by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is without error in the original writings. It is the complete revelation of God’s will for salvation. It is the ultimate authority by which every realm of human knowledge and endeavor should be judged. Scripture is to be believed in all that it teaches, obeyed in all that it requires, and trusted in all that it promises.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21)

01

Father

God the Father is perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, and measureless in power. He concerns Himself justly and mercifully in the affairs of people. He hears and answers prayer. He saves people from sin, from its power over their lives, and from spiritual death.

(Malachi 3:6, Hebrews 13:8, James 1:17)

03

Holy Spirit

God the Holy Spirit, through His present ministry, regenerates unto salvation, indwells and empowers Christians to live a godly life, enables them to understand the Scriptures, and equips them to be effective in furthering Christ’s Kingdom, glorifying both the Father and the Son.

(Romans 8:13-17; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18; John 3:5-6)

02

Son

God the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, is fully God and fully human having precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections as God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. He became flesh through His virgin birth. He lived a sinless life and performed miracles. He sacrificed His life through His vicarious and atoning death on the cross. He was raised from the dead, and He ascended to the right hand of the Father. He is our High Priest and Advocate before God the Father. He will physically return in power and in glory.

(John 10:30, Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:20-23, Luke 1:35, Hebrews 4:14-15, John 2:11, 1 Corinthians 15:3-8, Ephesians 1:7-8, Hebrews 2:9-11, John 11:25, Mark 16:19, Acts 1:10-11, Revelation 19:11-16, John 21:14, Acts 2:24, Romans 4:25)

(Romans 8:13-17; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18; John 3:5-6)

Salvation

Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful men and women. Men and women are saved solely by God’s grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

(John 3:16-19, Romans 3:21-24, Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5)

Eternity

There will be a resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the saved unto the resurrection of life everlasting; and the lost unto the resurrection of eternal damnation.

(John 3:16-19, 5:28-29; 2 Thessalonians. 1:9-10)

The Church

There is a spiritual unity among all believers who have been justified by God’s grace through faith alone in Christ.  These believers, locally and globally, are united by the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the Head.

(1 Corinthians 12:12-13, Galatians 3:26-29)
