Music Lessons

We encourage students who love music to pursue excellence in their craft outside of the classroom. Following are after school and summer opportunities for learning a new instrument or improving current skills outside the classroom.

Please note that summer information is typically updated in May and after school information is typically updated in August and throughout the school year.

After school lessons are a great way to learn a new instrument or improve skills of a current instrument. Through partnership with parents, alumni, and staff, we offer lessons in the following areas (listed alphabetically):

Please email the instructors for specifics about rates and availability.

Summer music lessons are a great opportunity for students of all skills to learn a new instrument, improve mastery of their current instrument, or prepare for fall auditions in music programs. Offerings include: piano, voice, percussion, and drums. Some instructors offer small group classes and all provide one-on-one lessons for individualized attention.

  • All lessons take place on FRCS’s campus (specific location will be discussed with teacher). Payment must be made at the beginning of the lesson/first day of class.
  • For individual lessons, when you register, you will receive a link for the teacher’s personal scheduler, so that you can pick the date and time from the available slots.
  • Lessons are $30 for 30 minutes and $50 for 50 minutes, unless otherwise indicated below; payment should be made out to FRCS and will be collected by the instructor.

Following are specific details for instructors and options. Please note that lessons are for the summer only and do not guarantee a spot in a music program in the fall.

Students receive instruction specific to their instrument as well as in the group setting of a band. They learn basic music theory, improve their practice skills, instrumental skills, and have fun in the process. This camp is a great way to prepare for the coming year for anyone who would be interested in joining Chapel Team OR the Contemporary Band elective. Students are grouped according to their ability level and will be challenged to grow in their musical abilities in an ensemble setting. Students MUST have some experience on their instrument. If they are a beginner they should consider lessons or group classes instead. Instructor permission or audition is REQUIRED in order to participate in this camp.
