Casting

Tell us the role you are hoping to receive from your audition ranked by preference.
Are you comfortable faking a kiss on stage?
Are you willing to play an ensemble role?
Ensemble roles will act on stage throughout the production, but may or may not have lines. Depending on the role, ensemble members may ballroom dance during the show. There will not be pre-show or intermission scenes. If you select "No" and you don't receive a lead or supporting role, we will honor your wishes and not cast you in the Ensemble. You will receive an email thanking you for auditioning and letting you know that you were not cast in the show. Selecting "No" will not increase your chances of being cast in a different role.

No matter what role you have, you are important! Please know that your attendance in rehearsal is crucial. Even if you don’t have a line, you are necessary for that scene! Every cast member needs to attend the rehearsals that they are called for in order to learn their blocking and to begin creating a seamless story that will entertain our audiences!

Actors are expected to list all anticipated absences below. Missing more than four rehearsals, or any number of required rehearsals, will result in any given role being eligible for reassignment without refund. A conversation will be opened between parents, actor, and directors before that occurs.

If you anticipate missing more than four rehearsals due to sports, outside commitments, etc., please indicate this below. This may affect the roles you are eligible for.

List all conflicts you may have (dates & times) from now until show dates which are November 19, 20, & 21.
Please list any additional comments regarding auditions or the rehearsal process.

Student Commitment

I agree to the following:

  1. I will honor my directors and fellow cast members by arriving on time for rehearsal and ready to work.
  2. I understand that focusing in rehearsal and not causing distraction is imperative to reaching our goal of presenting the best show that we can.
  3. If an emergency arises and I cannot come to rehearsal, I will email Mrs. Nielsen at macie.nielsen@frcs.org. I won’t ask a friend to communicate with the director for me.
  4. I will memorize my lines and blocking by the deadlines given. If I cannot, I will communicate with Mrs. Nielsen in a timely manner to brainstorm memorization strategies.
  5. I will stay in the PAC during rehearsals. I understand that I cannot wander the school or hang out in the Commons. I understand that it is important for the PAC to remain quiet during rehearsal and that I should bring homework to work on when I am not in a scene.
  6. I understand that cell phones may not be on the stage. They will be taken for the remainder of rehearsal if they are onstage.
  7. I understand that no food or drink may be brought into the PAC, except for water.
  8. I won’t alter my appearance (haircut/dye) without consulting with the directors first. I understand that this could affect the audience's perception of my character.
  9. I know that I may be asked to provide basic costuming such as: pants, shoes or specific undergarments.
  10. I understand that I will help with cleaning the PAC, Dressing Rooms, Commons etc after any rehearsal or performance assigned to me.
  11. I understand that the cast will help with striking the set following the final performance. All cast will stay and help in all areas until the entirety of the strike is complete.
