Learning Accommodations

Accommodation of Special Learning Needs in the Classroom

Front Range Christian School welcomes students with special learning needs for inclusion in our regular academic program, based on the following criteria:

In order to allow all FRCS students to thrive, space in this program is limited.

Accommodations vs. Modifications: What’s the difference?

Accommodations are provided in an effort to “level the playing field” and give these students a fair opportunity for success in learning.  They do not guarantee that a student will achieve a particular grade point average, earn a regular diploma, or achieve any other marker of academic success.  Accommodations offer an opportunity for success; the student still earns his or her own grades.

In no case is FRCS obligated to modify curriculum for students with special needs – that is, we do not change the substance of what is taught nor the standard by which learning is assessed.  Students receiving accommodations study the same material, complete the same assignments, and are assessed with the same grading scale as their classmates.
