About the PSAT
The test prepares students grades 7-10 for the standardized testing process and allows us to assess test-taking strengths and weaknesses for the PSAT, ACT, and SAT,
Test results provide guidance for placement in honors and AP level classes.
For Juniors, the test is also an opportunity to qualify for several scholarships, including the National Merit Scholarship.
You can visit the PSAT website for more information, including info about preparing for the PSAT.
Digital Test
The test is digital, so senior high students should bring their fully-charged device (iPad, laptop, Chromebook) to school on October 28. Junior high students will use school-provided Chromebooks.
Senior high students must also download Bluebook to their device in order to take the test.
Late Start & Half Day
Plan to drop students off at the school around 8:20am. They will need to be in their assigned testing area by 8:40am. The PSAT concludes around 11:30am, and there are no afternoon classes on October 28. It is a half day for all Jr/Sr High students. Please plan to pick up your student at 11:30am, as there is no supervision after 11:45.
For Seniors
Seniors are not required to be on campus this day. Instead, they are encouraged to use this as a day to work on college applications, schedule campus visits (it’s a great opportunity for seniors to visit local college campuses), complete the FAFSA, or complete any other college prep tasks needed. Please take advantage of this time, and plan accordingly.
