Biography
I have an Associate Degree in Adventure-Based Counseling from Canadian University College in Alberta Canada. Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Southern University Tennessee. Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with emphasis in Adventure-Based Leadership from Prescott College in Arizona. I have worked in a youth treatment facility, home based counseling program, and private Christian school over the past 7 years. During this time I have had the opportunity to counsel youth and their family, been director of student guidance counseling, director of student life and activities, and a teacher in developmental psychology and outdoor adventure. I am looking forward to continuing my passion for helping develop students for their future success.
My wife Lindsey is a Colorado native that grew up in the Littleton Community. She is currently a third grade teacher at Shaffer Elementary School in Littleton. Lindsey and I enjoy outdoor adventure and traveling.
For me personally, growing up in Colorado has led me to live a life full of adventure and given me a backdrop to pursue outdoor adventure. I enjoy all adventure outdoor sports including rock climbing, snowboarding, climbing 14-ers, backpacking, fly fishing and kayaking. Basically I love adventure and exploring nature. I became a counselor my junior year of high school while taking a peer counseling ministries class. I knew then that God was calling me to work with people through understanding them as unique individuals and creations, by understanding their need. While in college I began to realize the potential of combining education, counseling, and adventure as a part of an individual’s spiritual and personal development. I love working with youth and being a part of their personal, social and spiritual journey.
As a member of the faculty team at Front Range Christian School I will be challenging students and their families to unleash their potential. This will include helping them form purpose for their current lives and future. I believe in a holistic approach by helping students focus on their personal, social, and spiritual awareness. I love being in the classroom teaching where I can inspire students to critically think and equip them with skills for life. Through counseling my objective is to help students cultivate their unique skills in areas of personal identity, social growth and lifelong success.
I am excited to begin my next adventure with Front Range Christian School where I can be in a God-centered school environment to foster student’s growth. I want to help impact the students through advising and counseling while reflecting God’s glory through righteousness, peace, and joy.
