SUMMARY:Godly Sexuality Conference - Senior High
DESCRIPTION:Front Range Christian School is excited to partner with Authentic Life Church to bring you two conferences around the topic of godly sexuality. Both conferences feature Shelly Donahue\, a decorated guest speaker on this topic\, and in both sessions Shelly teaches parents to overcome fear and talk to their kids about sexuality with confidence and competence. At the same time\, teens gain a clear vision of the physical\, emotional\, spiritual\, financial\, and relational benefits of waiting until marriage. It’s a wholistic approach to relationship education. \nWe believe that this topic is important\, and we see a profound opportunity here for the church and the school to partner together. The focus of this time is to help students reflect about how to love well\, how to live well\, and how to find their identity in Jesus Christ. \nThis session is specifically intended for senior high students and their parents (there is another on November 9 for students grades 6-8 and their parents). The session is designed so that parents or guardians should attend alongside students (don’t worry — it won’t be totally awkward!). Please note that this event is not exclusive to FRCS\, and others from outside our school community will also attend. In fact\, feel free to invite friends or others in the Littleton area! The cost is FREE\, but we ask that you register in advance by using the button below. A pizza lunch will be served at the conference. \nREGISTER \n\nIt is also worth mentioning that we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to partner with Authentic Life Church to bring this event to you. If you see other opportunities for FRCS to partner with local area churches\, then please let Mr. Spector or Mrs. Hart know.

All students grades 7-11 will take the PSAT and seniors have the time to work on college prep tasks. Read on for specifics for each grade level. They will need to be in their assigned testing area by 8:40am. The PSAT concludes around 11:30am\, and there are no afternoon classes on October 28. It is a half day for all Jr/Sr High students. Please plan to pick up your student at 11:30am\, as there is no supervision after 11:45. \nFor Seniors\nSeniors are not required to be on campus this day. Instead\, they are encouraged to use this as a day to work on college applications\, schedule campus visits (it’s a great opportunity for seniors to visit local college campuses)\, complete the FAFSA\, or complete any other college prep tasks needed. Please take advantage of this time\, and plan accordingly. \nWHAT TO BRING ON OCTOBER 28\n\nYour fully charged device; you must have the Bluebook app installed and exam setup complete BEFORE test day (senior high only)\nA power cord and/or portable charger; we cannot guarantee that you will have access to an outlet during testing. SUMMARY:Scheduled Snow Day
DESCRIPTION:As an item for the Auction last spring\, we auctioned an opportunity to call a snow day for the school in the fall. The date for this scheduled snow day is set for Monday\, November 10. There will be no school this day. \nWhy are we letting a family call a snow day?\nCalling a snow is a fun\, unique item made available at the FRCS Auction. Several families bid on the item\, which makes it a great fundraiser for the school — similar to items like the teacher outings or “be a teacher for a day.” The chosen date must be approved by FRCS Administration to ensure it does not disrupt learning or already scheduled activities. Unlike other snow days\, planning one allows us to notify families in advance. \nAll schools in Colorado build in a contingency for a certain number of snow days each year\, to ensure that all required days of learning remain available to students in the schedule\, even in cases of bad weather. Being able to auction one of these contingency days is a fun way for the school to raise some money and give a family the chance to create a planned day off for all students. This auction item is planned and designed to NOT interrupt instruction and learning time for students. \nMy child is in the ECE program\, and I still need care for that day. Can I bring my child to school?\nYes! For our preschool\, PreK\, and kindergarten students\, it is an optional snow day. If you need care on these days\, you can bring your young students in for a great day of learning and fun. If you would like to have a snow day and stay home\, have fun! We do ask that you let ECE staff know what your plans are so that they can staff the ECE accordingly. \nWill FRCS offices also be closed?\nYes; it is\, after all\, a snow day!

SUMMARY:Learning Services Workshop
DESCRIPTION:At FRCS\, our mission is “to partner with the Christian home and the church in training children for life and equipping them to impact the world for Christ.” \nWithin Learning Services\, we strongly believe that our students are most successful when we are able to partner with the home because learning happens everywhere. Each of our parents has already made a significantly impactful decision in choosing FRCS’s teachers and community to come alongside them in raising up their students in an academically rigorous environment. \nTo further the partnership between home and the school\, the Learning Services invites parents to participate in a 3-part series of workshops geared toward understanding how your child’s brain works and providing practical tools and strategies to support them at home. \nDuring the first workshop\, we will outline the structure of our Learning Services department and help you understand the types of support and resources we offer from preschool through 12th grade. \nAt the second workshop\, we will dive deep into the mind of students with dyslexia using a simulation designed by the Dyslexia Training Institute. \nTo conclude the series\, we will explore a variety of different learning differences including ADHD\, anxiety\, dyscalculia and more. This exploration includes ways in which you can support these learning differences at home\, reinforcing what students experience at school. \nYou are not required to attend all 3 sessions if you register for the workshop. You are invited to all three\, but are welcome to attend whichever best fits your needs as a parent. Sessions are in January on Thursdays (15\, 22\, and 29)\, from 5:30-7pm. Childcare is available for $5 per family\, with the option to donate more to support our school programs. \nRSVP FOR WORKSHOP

SUMMARY:Adult Overcome Group
DESCRIPTION:FRCS is starting a new Overcome group for adults in our community. Overcome groups exist to create space for mental\, emotional\, and spiritual wellness. If you are working to be well in the midst of chaos or suffering\, or love someone who is\, please join us! Overcome is open to all FRCS parents\, staff\, friends\, and neighbors. Overcome is an 8-week\, peer-led group experience designed to help you build relationships\, gain tools for wellness\, and deepen your faith. Under the guidance of trained peer facilitators\, group members meet weekly in a small group setting that emphasizes safety and respect while exploring biblical truths about hope in the midst of suffering. \nThe group meets for eight weeks in the Elementary FDC beginning March 12 and concluding on May 7. There is not cost to participate. Participant workbooks may be downloaded as a PDF at no cost or spiral bound physical copies may be purchased for $24. \nFree childcare is available for children ages 3 through 6th grade (infants may be brought to the meetings with their parent\, if needed). \nRegistration Form\nPlease enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form. Please enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form.Name *FirstLastEmail *I would like to buy a physical copy of the participant workbook *Yes ($24\, due at first meeting)No\, I will download the PDF version (link provided when meeting draws closer)Childcare RegistrationDo you need childcare for the meetings? *YesNo \n workbook allergies any\n \n \n \n Child Information\n Child’s Name *FirstLastChild’s Agein years; use only numbersPlease list any allergies this child has\n \n Add Child\n \n \n Remove Child\n \n Register \nAnchor International\nAnchor International is a Christ-centered organization dedicated to bringing hope and belonging for people walking through mental health challenges. We do this by equipping churches and organizations to promote mental wellness through peer-led support groups\, like Overcome. As a community of peers who have personally experienced mental health struggles\, we’re passionate about creating a world where no one has to walk this journey alone. \nWe developed Overcome as a group experience for people of all backgrounds who want to grow in mental\, emotional\, and spiritual health. It’s an opportunity for exploration and discovery; a place where you can be yourself and have real\, honest conversations. Overcome is not a classroom or clinic: we don’t gather to teach or fix one another. In this place\, every person is respected and valued for who they are\, right where they are. \nThrough your participation in Overcome\, we hope you’ll experience a sense of belonging as you build relationships\, gain tools for wellness\, and deepen your faith. We also hope that you’ll leave inspired to let your light shine a little brighter as you live out your unique gifts and share your story with others. \nCheck out Anchorinternation.org for more details on their ministry.
