SUMMARY:Learning Services Workshop
DESCRIPTION:At FRCS\, our mission is “to partner with the Christian home and the church in training children for life and equipping them to impact the world for Christ.” \nWithin Learning Services\, we strongly believe that our students are most successful when we are able to partner with the home because learning happens everywhere. Each of our parents has already made a significantly impactful decision in choosing FRCS’s teachers and community to come alongside them in raising up their students in an academically rigorous environment. \nTo further the partnership between home and the school\, the Learning Services invites parents to participate in a 3-part series of workshops geared toward understanding how your child’s brain works and providing practical tools and strategies to support them at home. \nDuring the first workshop\, we will outline the structure of our Learning Services department and help you understand the types of support and resources we offer from preschool through 12th grade. \nAt the second workshop\, we will dive deep into the mind of students with dyslexia using a simulation designed by the Dyslexia Training Institute. \nTo conclude the series\, we will explore a variety of different learning differences including ADHD\, anxiety\, dyscalculia and more. This exploration includes ways in which you can support these learning differences at home\, reinforcing what students experience at school. \nYou are not required to attend all 3 sessions if you register for the workshop. You are invited to all three\, but are welcome to attend whichever best fits your needs as a parent. Sessions are in January on Thursdays (15\, 22\, and 29)\, from 5:30-7pm. Childcare is available for $5 per family\, with the option to donate more to support our school programs. \nRSVP FOR WORKSHOP

SUMMARY:Adult Overcome Group
DESCRIPTION:FRCS is starting a new Overcome group for adults in our community. Overcome groups exist to create space for mental\, emotional\, and spiritual wellness. If you are working to be well in the midst of chaos or suffering\, or love someone who is\, please join us! Overcome is open to all FRCS parents\, staff\, friends\, and neighbors. Overcome is an 8-week\, peer-led group experience designed to help you build relationships\, gain tools for wellness\, and deepen your faith. Under the guidance of trained peer facilitators\, group members meet weekly in a small group setting that emphasizes safety and respect while exploring biblical truths about hope in the midst of suffering. \nThe group meets for eight weeks in the Elementary FDC beginning March 12 and concluding on May 7. There is not cost to participate. Participant workbooks may be downloaded as a PDF at no cost or spiral bound physical copies may be purchased for $24. \nFree childcare is available for children ages 3 through 6th grade (infants may be brought to the meetings with their parent\, if needed). \nRegistration Form\nPlease enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form. Please enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form.Name *FirstLastEmail *I would like to buy a physical copy of the participant workbook *Yes ($24\, due at first meeting)No\, I will download the PDF version (link provided when meeting draws closer) \n buy copy Do\n \n \n Childcare RegistrationDo you need childcare for the meetings? *YesNo\n Child Information\n Child’s Name *FirstLastChild’s Agein years; use only numbersPlease list any allergies this child has\n \n Add Child\n \n \n Remove Child\n \n Register \nAnchor International\nAnchor International is a Christ-centered organization dedicated to bringing hope and belonging for people walking through mental health challenges. We do this by equipping churches and organizations to promote mental wellness through peer-led support groups\, like Overcome. As a community of peers who have personally experienced mental health struggles\, we’re passionate about creating a world where no one has to walk this journey alone. \nWe developed Overcome as a group experience for people of all backgrounds who want to grow in mental\, emotional\, and spiritual health. It’s an opportunity for exploration and discovery; a place where you can be yourself and have real\, honest conversations. Overcome is not a classroom or clinic: we don’t gather to teach or fix one another. In this place\, every person is respected and valued for who they are\, right where they are. \nThrough your participation in Overcome\, we hope you’ll experience a sense of belonging as you build relationships\, gain tools for wellness\, and deepen your faith. The Junior High required fee is $390 and the Senior High required fee is $435. Jr/Sr High families will be invoiced for fees on July 13\, and auto-drafted on August 10. Parents who choose not to sign this form consent to the use of photos or videos of their child or family as described above. \nThis form applies to photos and video taken during the school year that it is signed. SUMMARY:Senior Retreat
DESCRIPTION:The senior retreat is a multi day excursion that focuses on Survival\, Summit\, and Solo. \nFirst\, and most importantly\, our Seniors are encouraged to truly define who they are and how they desire to impact FRCS in their last year of high school. What will their legacy be? How can they\, as a class\, push our community into deeper Kingdom living? Second\, our Seniors will experience The Solo. The Solo is an expertly crafted\, wilderness experience focused on silence\, solitude\, and reflection. Students on the Solo will reflect on what they love and what they want out of this life. The reflection that comes out of the Solo will define much of what a student pursues in Senior Seminar leading to their Senior Capstone project. Lastly\, at the end of the retreat\, the Seniors will summit together. This is meant as a celebration of what they have done thus far on the retreat and what they will do in the coming year. This summit\, in many ways\, sets the tone for the Senior class as a whole. \nMore details\, including the specific packing list\, will be shared with students in Senior Seminar. \nFRCS Dress Code for Student Experiences\n(Retreats\, J-Terms\, Practicums\, and AWE Outings) \nGeneral Reminder: Students are expected to follow the FRCS Dress Code for all student experiences. The following guidelines provide specific expectations for performance wear for students outings and experiences. \nLadies may wear:\n\nFull-length leggings when paired with a shirt that provides appropriate coverage\nFitted performance shirts that remain within dress code expectations\nAthletic tank tops with straps at least three finger-widths wide\n\nLadies may NOT wear:\n\nShort shorts; shorts must extend to at least mid-thigh\nShirts or tops that are too revealing or inappropriate for the setting\n\nGentlemen may wear:\n\nAthletic wear such as workout shorts\, joggers\, and performance shirts\nFull-length athletic pants or shorts that meet dress code expectations\n\nGentlemen may NOT wear:\n\nShort shorts; shorts must extend at least mid-thigh\nTank tops or sleeveless shirts
