SUMMARY:Senior Solo Day Trip
DESCRIPTION:Since we needed to cancel the Senior Retreat this year\, aspects of the experience have been divided into a multi-day set of experiences with one optional overnight. The first experience is The Solo. \nThe Solo is an expertly crafted\, wilderness experience focused on silence\, solitude\, and reflection. Students on the Solo will reflect on what they love and what they want out of this life. The reflection that comes out of the Solo will define much of what a student pursues in Senior Seminar leading to their Senior Capstone project. \nThis version is an all day experience with seniors departing FRCS at 6:30am and returning at 6pm. \n\nFRCS Dress Code for Student Experiences\n(Retreats\, J-Terms\, Practicums\, and AWE Outings) \nGeneral Reminder: Students are expected to follow the FRCS Dress Code for all student experiences. The following guidelines provide specific expectations for performance wear for students outings and experiences. \nLadies may wear:\n\nFull-length leggings (shirts must be long enough to cover appropriately).\nSpandex shirts (fitting within the dress code guidelines).\nAthletic tank tops (should have a three-finger minimum width on the straps).\n\nLadies may NOT wear:\n\nShort shorts (must extend at least mid-thigh length).\nShirts or tops that are too revealing or inappropriate for the setting.\n\nGentlemen may wear:\n\nAthletic wear such as workout shorts\, joggers\, and performance shirts.\nFull-length athletic pants or shorts that adhere to the dress code.\n\nGentlemen may NOT wear:\n\nShort shorts (must extend at least mid-thigh length).\nTank tops or sleeveless shirts.

SUMMARY:Senior Summit
DESCRIPTION:Since we needed to cancel the Senior Retreat this year\, aspects of the experience have been divided into a multi-day set of experiences with one optional overnight. The second\, and final\, experience is The Summit. \nSeniors will Summit together. This is meant as a celebration of what they accomplished during The Solo and what they will do in the coming year. This Summit\, in many ways\, sets the tone for the senior class as a whole. \nSeniors do have the option to turn this experience into a camping trip. A group will meet at FRCS at 2pm on Sunday and camp overnight. Seniors who opted out of camping will meet those who chose to camp on Monday morning (departing from FRCS at 5:30am) so the entire class can Summit together. All seniors will return to FRCS by 4pm on Monday. \n\nFRCS Dress Code for Student Experiences\n(Retreats\, J-Terms\, Practicums\, and AWE Outings) \nGeneral Reminder: Students are expected to follow the FRCS Dress Code for all student experiences. SUMMARY:Godly Sexuality Conference - Senior High
DESCRIPTION:Front Range Christian School is excited to partner with Authentic Life Church to bring you two conferences around the topic of godly sexuality. Both conferences feature Shelly Donahue\, a decorated guest speaker on this topic\, and in both sessions Shelly teaches parents to overcome fear and talk to their kids about sexuality with confidence and competence. At the same time\, teens gain a clear vision of the physical\, emotional\, spiritual\, financial\, and relational benefits of waiting until marriage. It’s a wholistic approach to relationship education. \nWe believe that this topic is important\, and we see a profound opportunity here for the church and the school to partner together. The focus of this time is to help students reflect about how to love well\, how to live well\, and how to find their identity in Jesus Christ. \nThis session is specifically intended for senior high students and their parents (there is another on November 9 for students grades 6-8 and their parents). The session is designed so that parents or guardians should attend alongside students (don’t worry — it won’t be totally awkward!). Please note that this event is not exclusive to FRCS\, and others from outside our school community will also attend. In fact\, feel free to invite friends or others in the Littleton area! The cost is FREE\, but we ask that you register in advance by using the button below. A pizza lunch will be served at the conference. \nREGISTER \n\nIt is also worth mentioning that we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to partner with Authentic Life Church to bring this event to you. If you see other opportunities for FRCS to partner with local area churches\, then please let Mr. Spector or Mrs. Hart know.

Junior high students will use school-provided Chromebooks. \nSenior high students must also download Bluebook to their device in order to take the test. \nLate Start & Half Day\nPlan to drop students off at the school around 8:20am. They will need to be in their assigned testing area by 8:40am. The PSAT concludes around 11:30am\, and there are no afternoon classes on October 28. It is a half day for all Jr/Sr High students. Please plan to pick up your student at 11:30am\, as there is no supervision after 11:45. \nFor Seniors\nSeniors are not required to be on campus this day. Instead\, they are encouraged to use this as a day to work on college applications\, schedule campus visits (it’s a great opportunity for seniors to visit local college campuses)\, complete the FAFSA\, or complete any other college prep tasks needed. Please take advantage of this time\, and plan accordingly. \nWHAT TO BRING ON OCTOBER 28\n\nYour fully charged device; you must have the Bluebook app installed and exam setup complete BEFORE test day (senior high only)\nA power cord and/or portable charger; we cannot guarantee that you will have access to an outlet during testing. SUMMARY:Scheduled Snow Day
DESCRIPTION:As an item for the Auction last spring\, we auctioned an opportunity to call a snow day for the school in the fall. The date for this scheduled snow day is set for Monday\, November 10. There will be no school this day. \nWhy are we letting a family call a snow day?\nCalling a snow is a fun\, unique item made available at the FRCS Auction. Several families bid on the item\, which makes it a great fundraiser for the school — similar to items like the teacher outings or “be a teacher for a day.” The chosen date must be approved by FRCS Administration to ensure it does not disrupt learning or already scheduled activities. Unlike other snow days\, planning one allows us to notify families in advance. \nAll schools in Colorado build in a contingency for a certain number of snow days each year\, to ensure that all required days of learning remain available to students in the schedule\, even in cases of bad weather. Being able to auction one of these contingency days is a fun way for the school to raise some money and give a family the chance to create a planned day off for all students. This auction item is planned and designed to NOT interrupt instruction and learning time for students. \nMy child is in the ECE program\, and I still need care for that day. Can I bring my child to school?\nYes! For our preschool\, PreK\, and kindergarten students\, it is an optional snow day. If you need care on these days\, you can bring your young students in for a great day of learning and fun. If you would like to have a snow day and stay home\, have fun! We do ask that you let ECE staff know what your plans are so that they can staff the ECE accordingly. \nWill FRCS offices also be closed?\nYes; it is\, after all\, a snow day!
