SUMMARY:Senior High Retreats
DESCRIPTION:Students grades 9-11 retreat with their classes for two days of community building\, adventure\, and setting the tone for the coming school year. SUMMARY:Junior High Retreats
DESCRIPTION:Junior high retreats are designed to help each class and the junior high as a whole bond to help set the tone for the school year. The retreats take place over two days with time and activities for each class and the junior high as a whole. Cooperation sets the stage for community building. The goal of cooperation is to provide a safe environment where students feel included and can learn to work together. Activities each day involve everyone\, providing opportunities to build one another up\, develop guidelines and boundaries for a good Jr. High experience\, and help our students grow closer together as a class. \nOn Thursday\, students are challenged to trust themselves and one another as they work their way through a low ropes course at the Genesee Challenge Course in Genesee\, Colorado. Trust is the cornerstone of community—without it\, a community cannot survive. It is the foundation on which relationships are built and community is all about building and maintaining relationships. Together\, we focus on the Five-Finger Contract (Safety\, Commitment\, Awareness\, Responsibility\, and Encouragement)\, with an emphasis on students taking responsibility for their words and actions. We anticipate this retreat creating a stronger community of care and understanding within the 8th grade by bringing the students closer together as a class. \nOn Thursday\, students are challenged to trust themselves and one another as they work their way through a high ropes course at the Genesee Challenge Course in Genesee\, Colorado. DESCRIPTION:Junior high retreats are designed to help each class and the junior high as a whole bond to help set the tone for the school year. The retreats take place over two days with time and activities for each class and the junior high as a whole. Cooperation sets the stage for community building. The goal of cooperation is to provide a safe environment where students feel included and can learn to work together. Activities each day involve everyone\, providing opportunities to build one another up\, develop guidelines and boundaries for a good Jr. High experience\, and help our students grow closer together as a class. \nOn Thursday\, students are challenged to trust themselves and one another as they work their way through a low ropes course at the Genesee Challenge Course in Genesee\, Colorado.
