DESCRIPTION:Dear FRCS Family\, \nI can’t think of a more important life skill than reading! Reading touches every area of our lives and deepens our understanding of the world around us. Books take us on adventures\, teach us history\, share others’ stories\, and reveal God’s truth in His Word. \nThat’s why we dedicate four special days each fall to our annual Book Fair! I invite you to be part of this wonderful event. The selection will be extensive\, with something for every reader. As we approach the holiday season\, it’s the perfect time to consider giving the gift of books to your emerging reader. \nThis year\, we are excited to announce a change. After careful consideration\, we have decided to partner with a new organization\, I:55\, whose vision is “to see every child delight in books that grow their minds\, shape their hearts\, and point them toward lasting truth— inspiring the next generation of readers.” Over the past few years\, we have grown increasingly concerned with some of the content Scholastic has promoted\, and we believe I:55 provides a more aligned alternative. We invite you to come to the Book Fair in person and experience the change for yourself! \nWhile we are confident in the high quality of I:55’s books\, we will not be able to offer the same incentive programs we previously could through Scholastic. In past years\, those programs helped us build our classroom libraries\, provide discounts to students and staff\, and buy hundreds of books for our FDC. If you are able\, we invite you to consider purchasing books for classroom libraries and the FDC this year—your support will make a meaningful difference! \nThe Book Fair is always a highlight for our students and a great opportunity for our community to come together. To make it all happen\, we need your help! Please visit the P3 Portal to see volunteer opportunities and sign up for a time that fits your schedule. \nBook Fair Details:\n\nStudent Shopping: During regular FDC times\, Thursday\, October 30\, and Friday\, October 31.\nParent Shopping: Friday\, October 31 (after school)\, November 3 (during parent/teacher conferences)\, and November 4 from 7:40-10am.\n\nYou can also explore the Book Fair website to learn more about I:55.
