Gary Muse

Drama Teacher and Theater Director

Biography

Education and Experience
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Metropolitan State College of Denver (1976). When I graduated from college, I went to work for Youth for Christ as a Campus Life Club director. I completed by training in Denver and then was hired by LaGrange County Youth for Christ in LaGrange, Indiana, as their Executive Director. I worked there from 1977 through 1982. After YFC, I went into Law Enforcement. I worked from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office from 1983-1987, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office here in Colorado from 1987 through 2007. I retired from the Sheriff’s Office in October 2007 and have worked a number of places since then, including the Evergreen Chorale (where I am currently the Theater Manager for Center/Stage Theater), Montessori of Evergreen (currently the part-time upper elementary music teacher), Evergreen School of Music (where I currently teach private voice and piano lessons) and Chuck Ridings State Farm Insurance in Evergreen.

My Passion
My passion is musical theater and singing. I love to sing and perform on stage and have been very active in community theater ever since I was in high school. I have appeared in many local productions with the Evergreen Chorale and West Bowles Community Church over the past 15 years. Last Summer, I received a call from Dave Sherman asking me if I would be interested in applying for the position of Drama Teacher at FRCS. I felt that it was a match made in heaven for me! I love teaching drama here at FRCS and hope to continue to share the joy of acting with students here for a long time!

My Hobbies
My hobbies (in addition to theater) include volunteering at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden as a tour guide and tracing my family history as the unofficial “family historian” for my family.
