Mr. Ron Joins Front Range Christian School as Preschool Director

LITTLETON, Colorado (August 9, 2011) - Front Range Christian School’s Board of Directors are please to announce that Ron Downs, affectionately known by his students as Mr. Ron, has been hired as the new preschool director.

Downs grew up in Pueblo, Colorado. He received a baseball scholarship from the University of Wyoming where he completed a BA in Art with a minor in Marketing. He has also received a director’s license in early childhood education from Front Range Community College and has completed additional credits in education from Adams State College, the University of Colorado, and Colorado State University. Downs brings more than 20 years of teaching and administrative experience to Front Range Christian, having taught kindergarten for 13 years as well as serving as the Director of Primrose School of Ken Caryl for the past 10 years.

A former professional baseball player and minor league traveler for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Downs coaches both baseball and basketball for South Jeffco Sports where he is also a finalist for Coach of the Year. In utilizing his degree, Downs also produced his first fine art print in 1991. His charity work includes involvement with “Feeding the Many” at WaterStone Community Church, helping raise money for silent auctions for various charities, and running a half-marathon to raise money for Children’s Hospital.
