Head Coach′s Philosophy

I believe that participating in athletics at FRCS help prepare students for a life of impact. It is a place for young people to:

  • use their God given talents
  • be challenged to glorify God in the heat of battle and competition
  • develop skills in conflict resolution
  • learn how to rely on the Holy Spirit and to demonstrate the “fruit of the spirit”
  • learn how to submit to authority
  • be challenged to work hard, even when they don’t feel like it
  • learn the value of working as a team
  • learn to celebrate the victories of others
  • set goals and achieve them
  • learn how to handle disappointment and failure
  • learn humility
  • learn to forgive and to be forgiven
  • learn the power of encouraging and caring for others
  • be held accountable
  • learn leadership skills
  • be challenged outside their comfort zone
  • learn about commitment and follow-through
  • and lots more good stuff that will have life long benefits!

Along with wanting to help train young woman for life, I have a passion to see young woman grow in their love and commitment to Jesus Christ. One way of doing that is to come along side and develop relationships with young women that share a similar passion as I do. I love the game of volleyball. But more importantly I love my Savior and believe that God has brought the two (Jesus and Volleyball) together to impact the girls I coach for His Glory.

As a coach and a team our focus will be on doing our best each time we come on the court. If we give everything we have to the best of our ability – we will be successful!

God has put in me a passion for sports and particularly volleyball. This passion is part of the role he has for me in His Kingdom work. By coming alongside students in learning and playing the game, we can also walk together in life, using all experiences that go along with competing in a team sport to help us mature into the Christ followers that God wants us to be. I want to be a part of discipling the next generation of young women. I believe coaching at FRCS is a wonderful place to do that.
