Raising Up Christian Scholars

Athletics

At Front Range Christian School, we believe that sports are a great way for our students to develop physically while providing an opportunity for them to understand team and competitive environments. We encourage our athletes to become Christ-like role models in training, competition, and all areas of their lives.

The unfortunate truth for many Christian sports programs is that one often cannot tell the difference between the athletes and coaches from the Christian schools and the athletes and coaches from secular schools. At FRCS, we emphasize that athletes and fans must have a Christ-like demeanor and godly attitude in their approach to sports. This includes our revolutionary “Meet at the…” programs in which we invite the visiting team to gather for encouraging put-ups (instead of put-downs) and prayer after each home game.

Our coaches are more than just sports mentors. They also take seriously their responsibility to act as spiritual mentors and role models for their athletes. Many FRCS alumni state that their coaches played a vital role in their FRCS experience.

And most importantly, our sports programs seek to glorify God in everything.

Culinary Arts

At FRCS, we believe that the culinary arts can be an important part of a well-rounded education. Not only does it help prepare students for life, it can expand the mind with exposure to different cultures, provide opportunities for the practical application of math and the sciences, and engage students’ senses while they learn.

The Culinary Arts Center at Front Range Christian School is a cooking lab that opens tasty opportunities for students to learn the art of cooking. From food preparation skills to knowledge of ingredients, global cuisine, food service operations, and more, the hands-on electives and extracurricular classes offered in the Culinary Arts Center are just another aspect of the discipleship-based, Christian liberal arts education at FRCS.

Genesis Center

An educational distinctive that offers students a place where their Imagination, Creative, Innovative Visions can come to life through 3D printers, laser cutters, metal working, welding, and woodworking.

We find that certain specific skills are universally beneficial at allowing a student to manipulate the physical world. Many “Maker Spaces” seem to overemphasize technologically advanced equipment, but we believe that “mundane” tools offer at least as much benefit to the student. For instance, a student’s ability to measure and mark accurately will always remain important, even if that student is cutting with a laser. We also find that the primary manner in which students gain competency is repetition.

Arts

Based on the core values and philosophy of FRCS, the mission of the Fine Arts Department is to produce students with a Christian mindset towards each discipline who will act justly, love mercy and walk humbly before God (Micah 6:8). Students are encouraged to pursue the abilities which make humans unique in God’s creation through artistic creativity in the areas of music, music technology, drama, speech, dance, and the visual arts. Students are inspired to use their gifts and passions to glorify God and bless others as they develop abilities that will equip them to become innovative leaders and impact the world for Christ.

We believe the arts, and drama most specifically, provide one of the greatest learning tools as students experience history, culture, literature, and human relationships by bringing it to life on the stage. It is also a powerful tool in shaping young men and women to be confident individuals who can speak, sing, and perform with poise. Participation in the performing arts builds patience, perseverance, teamwork, and personal skills that prepare any student for the future in any field

AWE

Adventure and Wilderness Experiences (AWE) is an FRCS experience-based program that exists to use on and off campus experiences to develop both a student’s character and the school community. AWE’s objective is for students to have a better understanding of self and cultivate their unique design in an active environment. Our hope is these experiences will help students develop skills to impact the world for Christ.

One of our core missions is to develop exceptional leaders who will make a positive impact on the world. Our AWE program nurtures leadership skills, teaching you how to lead with compassion, empathy, and a Christ-centered perspective. We believe that the world needs leaders who are not only competent but also rooted in values that promote love, understanding, and kindness.

But it’s not just about individual growth – it’s about building a community that stands strong together. Through shared experiences, students forge unbreakable bonds, creating a support system that lasts far beyond their time at FRCS.

dGroups

Discipleship is at the very heart of our mission at FRCS. In order to produce students who are properly equipped to impact the world, we must train them in the way of Jesus Christ. Our intent is to shepherd and teach students in their walk with God; helping them strive to conform every aspect of their life – heart, mind, and soul – to the person and teachings of Jesus Christ. Our hope is that when people come to know individuals in the FRCS community, they realize that we have been with Jesus (Acts 4:13), and that this relationship has changed us to the core.

One key component of our discipleship efforts at FRCS is our dGroup program. Every student in 7th-12th grade meets weekly with a small group of peers. While these groups vary in their activities, the focus is consistent: spiritual growth through mentorship and community. Junior High (7th-8th grade) dGroups are led by 11th and 12th grade student leaders.

These upperclassmen are selected through an application process to serve as role models and leaders.

At FRCS, students are challenged to think for themselves: to pursue questions of purpose and faith; to think critically about the world around them so that they can engage it, not avoid it; to make their faith their own so that they can remain strong in it even after they graduate
