Summers are fun at Front Range Christian School! We offer a wide variety of summer camps to excite and challenge your child. Read on for descriptions of the camps and register todayPlease note that grade designations below refer to the students grade in the fall of 2016. Registration for each camp will close at 3pm on Friday before the camp begins.

Camp Week

Most of the 2016 Summer Camps happen during Camp Week—July 11-15, 2016—and there are a variety of camps to choose from. Read on for full camp descriptions, including times and costs, then register online! Note that check-in for Camp Week camps occurs in Holy Grounds Café. All campers should be dropped of at Holy Grounds for check-in. Camp leaders will then take them to their camp’s location.

American Girl

  • Instructor: Tari Puleo
  • Cost: $175
  • Grades: (time slot 1) 3rd-4th; (time slot 2) 5th-8th
  • ​Class size: maximum 16 girls (for each time slot)
  • Dates: July 11-15
  • Time slots: (1) 8:30-10am or (2) 10:30am-noon

Come be a part of the American Girl experience at FRCS. Take a walk through history with some of your favorite dolls and their individual stories. We will learn about Kit Kittredge and her friend, Ruthie; Felicity; and some of the recent Dolls of the Year, including:

  • McKenna, a gymnast, who begins to struggle with reading comprehension in school; she uses her determination with gymnastics to overcome her struggles in the classroom
  • Saige, an artist who perseveres through struggles at school
  • Isabelle who is a dancer

In addition to focusing on the food, fashion, and lifestyle that each girl experienced during her era of time, we will sample foods, make crafts, and hear stories that relate to the American Girl Collection series while tying it to biblical lessons. We will have an American Girl fashion show during the week where we will focus on manners and inner beauty as God sees us.

Exploring Health & Fitness: The Next Level

  • Cost: $200
  • Grades: 7th-12th
  • Class size: maximum 26 girls
  • Dates: July 11-15
  • Time slot: 8:30am-noon

Join us as we take fitness to the next level! We will be getting adventurous and finding new ways to get our hearts thumping! Be prepared to test the limits as we encourage each other to reach new heights. On Friday, we’ll head to Manitou Springs to conquer the Incline! ~ 2 Timothy 4:17

Lego Robotics

  • Instructor: Eli Spector
  • Cost: $150
  • Grades: 5th-8th

Do you enjoy building things with your hands? How about problem-solving? Do you also happen to love LEGOs? Mechanization has become the way of modern life, and with it, the field of robotics is booming. Robotics has become vital to our everyday experience—everything, from the phone you use to the appliances in your kitchen, is dependent on the power of robotics and the ingenuity of mechanical engineering. At our robotics camp, you’ll work in teams to experiment, design, and employ solutions to problems that correlate to real world applications. Oh, and we will do all of it by using the most recent version of the LEGO robotics kits! (return to the camp list)

Shabby Chic

  • Grades: 5th-10th
  • Class size: maximum 15 girls (for each time slot)
  • Dates: July 11-15
  • Time slots: (1) 8:30-10am or (2) 10:30am-noon

This camps is for girls interested in learning how to make their own natural bath and body supplies and crafts. Student siwll make their own lotions, candles, bath bombs, and crafts using all natural or repurposed materials and ingredients. Students will also learn about the natural benefits of eco-friendly ingredients we use to craft these baskets. At the end of the week, participants will have created their own spa basket to take home! All materials for this camp are already included in the camp cost. (return to the camp list)

  • Grades: 3rd-6th
  • Class size: maximum 15 students (for each time slot)
  • Dates: July 11-15

Take your love of crafting and creating to a whole new level! Students will spend the week creating works of art to wear and share. Not your typical make, take, and toss later projects, but projects that can actually add beauty and have purpose. Students will explore such mediums as tie-dye, string art, and paper making, to name a few. Get ready to think “outside the box” and have some fun! (return to the camp list)

  • Grades: 3rd-6th
  • Class size: maximum 18 students
  • Dates: July 11-15
  • Time slot: 8:30am-noon

Open to students who are interested in playing tennis, no matter their experience level! This is a great sport that can be played year-round, with your family and as a team sport. This camp will be fun with lots of games and drills served up each day. We will also look into God’s Word as it applies to a sport each in a devotion time. We can’t wait to see you there!

Other Camps

BIGinnings Baseball

  • Instructors: Ron Downs and FRCS baseball players
  • Cost: $160
  • Ages: 7-13 years old
  • Dates: June 6-10
  • Time: 9am-noon

BIGinnings Baseball: Where Character Matters is proud to invite you to our 4th summer of fun in the sun! Please join us at Falcon Field for professional instruction from Ron Downs, former professional baseball player. Ron uses 25 years in education, as well as youth/high school coach, to give positive instructions to each individual player, ages 7-13. This baseball camp is designed for all levels of players and their specific skills, from beginning to advanced. Each day the players will learn valuable lessons about baseball, character, and life. This is truly a unique and dynamic sports camp. The camp includes a camp t-shirt, root beer floats, trivia prizes, and BBQ lunch on Friday. The players traditionally love the last day where we play our famous Whiffle Ball World Series.

Participants should bring: a baseball glove, hat, and water bottle. Players may wear baseball/sweat pants or shorts. Please apply sunscreen each morning before arrival, and we will take it from there. (return to camp list)

Drama Camp

  • Instructors: Sharon Payne and Sophie Hoag
  • Cost: $165
  • Grades: 1st-6th
  • Class size: minimum 10 students; maximum 30 students
  • Dates: June 13-17
  • Time: 9am-2pm

This camp is designed to help students explore drama, whether they are a beginner or a seasoned actor! Students will participate in workshops throughout the week while putting together a play to be presented on Friday in the PAC at 1pm. This year students will perform a play called “Aleece in Cyberland.” Students should bring a water bottle as well as a lunch each day. Fees include a camp t-shirt for all campers.   • Dates: July 18-21
  • Time: 9:30am-noon

For 2016, we’re excited to announce our first youth football camp! We will run a four-day, non-contact camp focusing on the fundamentals of the sport. We will work on proper throwing, catching, ball handling, blocking, stance, alignment, tackling, and so much more! Come the learn the fundamentals of volleyball with Head Coach Nate Musser and Junior High Coach Mary Frances Smith. Participants will have fun while learning the basics and competing in games and activities.
