Tammy Michaels
Educational Background & Experience
I received a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Cedarville University in 1998 and a master’s degree in special education from Regent University in 2009. I have taught for eleven years (6 years in CA, NV and IL and 5 years in the fascinating country of Turkey). My experience includes teaching 3rd – 5th grade in the regular classroom, serving as a home school teacher for 5th – 7th graders, providing NILD educational therapy, and teaching in an elementary special education classroom.
Why do you teach?
I enjoy helping students meet their full potential in all areas, not just in academics, but also in their spiritual, emotional, and social growth. I love to learn myself and enjoy teaching students in creative ways.
Why do you teach at FRCS?
I was drawn to FRCS because of the school’s commitment to teaching Biblical standards and to meeting the needs of a diverse population of students. I moved from the Chicago area to join the staff at FRCS this year. I have found the staff to be very helpful, friendly, and caring.
Passion in Life
I am passionate about learning. I love to learn more about God, His creation, and the subjects I teach.
Hobbies:
I enjoy traveling, hiking, water skiing, cooking, reading, children’s ministry, and missions work.
